Pretty Technical people have a wide and varied skillset and Project Manager Richard is a great example of that diversity of experience! We took some time getting to know a bit more about ‘Rich’ and his work at Pretty Technical.

What technology do you most enjoy using in your role?
As a project manager, I enjoy using various technologies that help streamline project management, collaboration, and communication. Some of my favorite tools include project management software like Jira, communication platforms like Slack, and collaboration tools like Google Drive. However, across the projects we’ve been working on, from a development point of view, I’ve become quite fond of Directus and its capabilities and I have been learning how to do some configurations and changes within, and want to continue expanding on my knowledge of Directus.

What’s been your favourite project for PT so far and why?
One of my favorite projects for PT has been one for Sportradar. It was really complex and presented a number of opportunities to learn and key challenges that were really rewarding to overcome and have since informed our approach to other projects. I’m continuously impressed by the logic, craft and sweat the team put into our projects, this one in particular! I also love working with Sportradar as a client. Their expertise, innovation, and reliability make it a really enjoyable experience. Plus, I get to work on ground-breaking initiatives and expand my professional network in the sports industry. It’s a win-win situation!

What 3 words best describe PTs approach to development:

  1. Innovative
  2. Collaborative
  3. Agile

How do you like to recharge?
To recharge, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books, and practicing yoga. I also love traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures.

What’s your favourite food?
My favorite food is sushi. I love the fresh flavors and the variety of different rolls and sashimi options.

Where in the world haven’t you been but would most like to visit?
There are so many places I would love to visit, but one place that has been on my bucket list for a long time is Japan. I am fascinated by Japanese culture, food, and history and would love to explore the country and immerse myself in its unique traditions and way of life.
