In this short series, we will be talking with global team members about their what it’s like to work at Pretty Technical. Here’s a few words from Project Manager, Richard!

“When I first joined Pretty Technical, I experienced a huge culture shock! Coming from a finance background, you get used to being an inconsequential number, a cog in the machine. What I’ve come to appreciate about the culture here is that it’s a “people” company. You are of course recognised for your hard work and achievements, but your personal well-being always comes first. Relationships, mutual understanding, inclusivity and transparent communication are all key to our culture and actually result in better projects!

I’ve learned a lot in the short time that I’ve been here. In previous companies I’ve had much less exposure to the detailed technical side, but at Pretty Technical I’m right in there as part of the team. My understanding and appreciation for the systems architecture and everything in between has rocketed, and I can see more opportunities to broaden that knowledge.

Pretty Technical are extremely supportive, and our methodologies, along with our culture, really bring out the best in me. I have a strong foundation in the current projects that I’ve been assigned. I’ve made them my own, taking full ownership and accountability for what we’re creating as a team.

In the next 5 years I hope to develop new working relationships, whilst maintaining existing relationships with our brilliant clients. As the company continues to grow, I want to be a core part of that growth. The company supports me entirely, and I’m glad to do the same.”
