In this short series, we will be talking with members of Pretty Technical about their experiences working within our global team. Here’s a word from our Front End Developer, Maria!

“My growth and development as a professional has taken a huge step during this last year by being part of the Pretty Technical team. I have learnt so much, from managing a whole development team, to leading a project, as well as how to communicate between clients and project managers.

On the technical side, I have learned the handling of new tools and frameworks with daily study and practice, also in the area of ​​code reviews and handling of the scrum methodology, among many other things. Pretty Technical has given me the opportunity to take courses to improve in different areas related to software development and also obtain new knowledge from each of my colleagues, learning something new every day from their own experience in the area. I feel motivated to listen to them and keep growing. It’s been so beneficial having such a diverse group of people within our team.

Every day I have the opportunity to interact with people from different countries and cultures around the world, which has been a new and exciting experience. Despite the face-to-face limitations, I have met extraordinary people from different places with whom I work with every day. Not only that, I am able to improve my English in each of the conversations I have with my Native English colleagues, learning new ways of expressing myself and improving communication. In each interaction we deepen our collaboration and learn a little more about them outside of work.

In the next 5 years, I see many more projects being completed! I’d like to complete my training, be able to manage a project independently and guide new people who join the team. I would like to continue being part of the team that organises the projects and participate more in engineering.”
